All our instructors have fully enhanced CRB clearance and there is always a qualified first aider available during training sessions.

Started karate training in 1989. York's only Full time KUGB Karate Instructor. Current KUGB England International Fighter with many World, European, National and Regional titles. Competition highlights include 2001 ESKA European Junior Team Champion, 2001 WSKA World Senior Team silver medalist. 2008 ESKA European Senior Team Champion. 2009 KUGB National Bronze Medalist. 2009 ESKA European Senior Team Champion. Sensei Rob McCartney 4th Dan

With over 25 years experience in karate Sensei McCartney is a former KUGB England Squad member with many competition success in kata and kumite
He is a senior instructor at York Karate.

Sensei Lisa O'Grady 3rd Dan

Started karate training in 1990. Current KUGB Wales International Fighter, European silver medalist and many times Welsh Champion. York Karate Senior Instructor and York Karate team kata coach.

Sensei Simon Crowther 3rd Dan

After a 15 year break from karate due to work commitments, Simon has now been back training a few years and has proved to be an extremely talented and powerful karate-ka with a fantastic attitude to karate. Simon also has had much success in competition.
